Monash Gala Day - Trampolining

The Monash Gala Day was held recently and of the three sporting events scheduled only one was able to go ahead due to the weather. I, with Mr Clayton, was lucky enough to accompany a small group of students to trampolining. It was a wonderful day held at the Omega Trampoline Club at Rowville Community Centre.

The students were split into 3 groups, mixed with students from our local schools. They were taught basic skills that progressed with difficulty throughout the day. Jumping, landing on various parts of the body, flipping forwards and backwards, twisting, and combining skills to create routines. After a lunch break, set routines were taught, and a competition held. Our students really enjoyed this activity.

Team - Hayley Browne, Olivia Hart-Crombie, Alexis Kanellakis, Karenza Martin, Claire Paterson, Aisha Woon and Kiera Woon.

If you are interested in getting involved in trampolining, the Omega Trampoline Club will welcome you. For more information email omegatrampoline@bigpond.com

State Champions!

Year 8 Girls Softball- State Champions

Last Tuesday our year 8 girls softball team, coached by Danielle Mortimer, competed at the Eastern Metropolitan Region finals in Ferntree Gully. After an extremely tight day of competition they made it through to the state finals having scored just one more run than their competition. After only one day rest the girls headed off to Waverley Women's Softball Club and competed on Thursday. After narrowly progressing over Western Heights Secondary in their pool the team faced our local rivals Glen Waverley Secondary in the final. With some outstanding pitching from Lily Sherrin and strong batting from the entire line up, the team was victorious 14-4. An outstanding achievement and a sign of some very strong intermediate and senior softball teams in the future!
