Calrossy Secondary

Social Media and Technology Use

As mentioned in the previous newsletter, Calrossy will host two parent sessions on teenagers and social media. As a school leadership team, we continually see the negative impacts of phones and social media on our young people. We are also noticing how hard it is for parents to keep up with the rapidly changing landscape of social media and mobile phone use.

We also recognise that this is not just an issue for students and parents of Calrossy. As such, we are opening these events to anyone from the community keen to understand these issues more and how they can support their young people navigating these complex matters. We cannot implore our parents enough of the need to be well-educated on this topic so that we can support our students in the best way possible.

As a result, we have managed to secure Dr Marshall Ballantine-Jones an expert in the field and a highly sought-after presenter on this topic. We believe as many parents must attend as possible to ensure all members of our community are well-equipped to navigate these issues.

The sessions will be:

Monday 14th November 5pm (BSC Hall)

Tuesday 15th November 7pm (BSC Hall)
