Extra Curricular

During Term 4, our school hosted 4 chess tournaments including the Girls State Final, the Junior Primary (Prep to Year 3) tournament, the Primary Open State Final and the Junior Primary (Prep to Year 3) State Final.

We are proud of all those students who competed and acknowledge the achievements of Sophie L who placed 13th out out 41 students in the Junior Primary (Prep to Year 3) Tournament, receiving a silver medal for her achievements and our school placed 4th out of 15 schools.

We also acknowledge the achievements of Darren who placed 11th out of 82 students in the Primary Open State Final receiving a bronze medal for his achievements and our school placed 18th out of 37 schools.

These tournaments are complimented by the chess lessons provided at our school by Northern Star Chess on Wednesdays at lunchtime.

Our Skipping Club continued during Term 4 thanks to Ms Nicki Durrant and Miss Maddi Durrant who gave up their lunchtimes to teach new skills and routines to our many skippers.

Term 4 also saw two new activities added to our extra curricular program, with Lego Robotics Lab run by Outer Eastern Young Engineers and soccer lessons delivered by Soccer X.

The year concluded with a singing and instrumental concert.

Eighteen students who have weekly singing lessons with Mrs Rebecca Bode and eight students who have weekly instrumental lessons with Caitlin from ABC Music participated in the concert.

It is impressive how confident these young students are in performing in front of an audience. Well done to all.

Kind regards
