Kindergarten Visit to Calmsley Hill City Farm

E. Beard - Early Stage 1 Assistant Principal

On Monday, 24th October, Kindergarten students attended an excursion to Calmsley Hill City Farm.

It was a wet morning as we headed off on the bus to the farm. The students were so excited to tour the farm and each class was escorted by their own farmer! We noticed free-range chickens moving about and a peacock sheltering from the rain.

We all got a wild ride on the tractor out into the paddocks and went into the nursery to pat all the baby animals. Many students shared that they loved milking the cows as well.

In the afternoon, we were treated to a sheep shearing demonstration and a whip-cracking tutorial. Volunteers were able to have a turn!

Before we knew it, it was time to head back to school. We were soggy and tired but eager to share all our experiences with our families.
