Flood Relief - Casual Dress Day

The past several weeks have been devastating for our surrounding communities that have been drastically impacted by the floods.  On Friday 9 December, primary and secondary students are invited to wear casual dress and bring along a gold coin donation to help support those in need. All donations will be given to the River Relief fund which will go to the Echuca Moama Apex club, ensuring all the money is distributed to those affected.

If you’re interested in continuing to support those hit hard by the floods, Moama local and Moama Anglican Grammar parent Lou Conway has created River Relief Fund has designed T-shirts that incorporate three of the regions main rivers; the Murray, Campaspe and the Goulburn. These t-shirts can be purchased for $30.

We’re privileged to live in a community that is full of kindness and compassion, so we look forward to you all supporting a great cause and helping those in need.

Dressage for Success

Summer and Skyla Cox both competed in the Hygain Tatura Dressage Series this year, competing in their respective levels in May, July, August, and October.

Summer and her pony "Royal" won 5 of the 8 classes in the four competitions, with the majority of their scores in the mid 70% range. To put things into perspective, in order to qualify for state championships, you must score higher than 62%, so anything in the mid-60% range and above is excellent! Summer's multiple scores in the mid 70% range are outstanding. Summer was the overall winner of the Preliminary Pony Championship.

Summer has only been riding Royal for a year and has transformed him from a very inexperienced pony to a horse that consistently outperforms much more experienced horses.

Skyla and her pony "Wombat" scored very consistently throughout the four competitions, and she did an amazing job with a pony that was very nervous in an indoor arena and atmosphere! Wombat is an older pony who was taken out of retirement when he bought 18 months ago, so seeing him back in the competition arena and scoring great results is a testament to Skyla's patience and dedication. Skyla won the Novice Pony Championship overall.

Summer and Skyla both train these ponies, but the girls also train with their instructor on a weekly basis. Emma Hester, a successful European dressage instructor, lives in Merrigum and is crucial to the girls' success. Summer will compete in the State Championships, "Dressage Festival," in December, and both girls will compete in the Australian National Youth Dressage Championships in January.

NB: Ponies ``registered" names are Calveston Helanic Royale and Rockfire U Turn..... Royal and Wombat are their stable names and MUCH easier to say.

Summer is riding the grey pony, while Skyla is riding the bay pony.
