It has been a very busy Semester 2 in the Art Room. Students have written their names in different styles and these have been displayed in the library and the Art Room. Next, we learnt how to make our pictures look more realistic with students in Years 4-6 finding out how to do one-point perspective. Years 2 and 3 realised that if they drew objects smaller and less detailed the further back in a scene it would make their pictures look more realistic. Our final project for this year has drawn inspiration from Pablo Picasso with our Cubism portraits with each year group using a different process to showcase their work; Year 2 printed their faces using a selection of objects, Year 3 used scratch art, Year 4 are printing using foam sheets, Year 5 are doing paper collage and Year 6 are creating a string image which they will cover with tinfoil before colouring the spaces with sharpie pens.
