3/4 BO'C - Religious Education

Ms O'Connor

In RE and Inquiry this term our focus has been on Creativity and how we see it and experience it in our world. As part of our unit we were so fortunate to attend the ‘Monet and Friends’ Exhibition at the Lume. We were amazed at our live art experience, and the students were in awe at the colours, sounds and sights of the exhibition. As we entered the Lume we were greeted by the friendly staff who gave us a rundown on how Monet paved the way for artists and the lasting impact his techniques and ideas have had on art today.

During the exhibition we wandered around and marvelled at the 360 degree art experience. Our students were thrilled and enthralled by the experience, and they were fantastic representatives of our school. Following the exhibition, we hopped back on the tram and had a picnic lunch at the Fitzroy Gardens. We enjoyed the warm and sunny weather and it was fantastic to see our Years 3-6 students connect with each other and foster positive relationships across the year levels.

Some quotes from students during the Monet and Friends Exhibition:

“My eyes are feasting!”

“The paintings look like real life!”

“I wonder what Monet’s garden would look like today?”
