Principal's News

Nigel Rodrigues

Dear Families,

The warmer weather we have been having is certainly reminding us that we are quickly approaching the summer months, and whilst we know that this will change many times before our first day of summer on 1st December it is still nice to see the sun shining and beautiful blue skies. Whilst our teachers will continuously remind their classes about the importance of protecting ourselves from the sun we would greatly appreciate your support in reminding children to wear their hats at school and to use sunscreen, especially on days of high UV exposure. At Trinity we maintain a 'No Hat No Play' policy at this time of the year as part of our requirements as a Sun Smart School.

Incursions & Excursions

Many of our classes have been involved in excursions and incursions these past few weeks and it is always great to hear how these experiences enhance the learning which occurs in classrooms each day. These activities should create great opportunities for conversation at home which can further reinforce each child's learning.  This week our Prep students had an amazing experience learning about native Australian animals, Aboriginal connections to these animals and of course were given the opportunity to touch these creatures as part of their learning.

While the Preps were at school having a wonderful time our Year 3s to 6s were at The Lume being exposed to the most wonderful art of Monet and other French Impressionists.

The Lume offered a very different gallery experience and from all accounts the children had an exceptional time. I have included a short video here as this would be a wonderful family experience and I am sure most children would love to go again.  Ms O'Connor has also included in the RE page of our newsletter how this excursion tied in perfectly with their study of Creativity in Religious Education and Inquiry.

Prep 2023 Final Transition Morning

Our final Prep transition morning was a great success and ended with an exciting bear hunt in the school playground. It was amazing to see how in just a few sessions together these children had alrerady made connections and developed familiarity with the school and many staff. We know that these sessions will ensure that all children who start prep with us next year will have at least begun to experience a little of what school life will mean. Ms Caitlin will once again be our Prep teacher next year and I am sure is already looking forward to an exciting year of learning with our new students.  While our 2023 Preps participated in their final transition morning, we hosted their parents for an information session in the MPR. Below is the prayer I used at the start of the meeting which speaks of the connection we need to build as we work together to provide each of our children with a safe and engaging education.

Prayer:  A prayer for parents and Teachers

We ask for God’s blessing on the journey we have begun together
as this new group of students enter their first year of school.
Lord; grant us the will to work together,
the wisdom to listen to each other’s views and the insight to plan together,
so that every child in our care is able to reach their full potential.
Help us to build our school family so that we can let our school become an example of excellence
a great place of learning and an environment where every child and their family feels a great sense of belonging.
We ask this through Christ our Lord
Amen

Class Groups 2023

We are still currently working out staffing for 2023, however, I can share that next year our class structure will be:

1 X Prep    3 X 1/2s    2 X 3/4s    2 X 5/6s

Our meet the teacher day will be Tuesday 13th December when all children will find out their teacher for 2023.

Kind Regards
