Advent period
At Mass last weekend, the second Advent candle was lit signifying the second week of preparation for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. As the school year comes to an end, families are busy preparing for the festivities of Christmas. Presents are bought, houses are cleaned, and food is cooked as we prepare to welcome guests into our homes.
This is also what Advent is all about: preparing to welcome the Lord. Advent is a time of waiting but it is not a passive waiting. It is waiting with eager anticipation as we wait to celebrate the birth of Christ.
We give thanks to our wonderful students and staff for a challenging but rewarding year.
We also acknowledge our staff as their time at the College comes to an end:
Ms Lyn Alexander | Pathways and Transition |
Mrs Annette Carnemolla | Education Assistant |
Miss Brianna Di Stefano | Year 3 Teacher |
Ms Bonita Devanand | Mathematics |
Mr Ian Edwards | Accounting |
Miss Laura Furse | Drama |
Mrs Margaret Gratton | Administration |
Miss Ariana Hetherington | Mathematics |
Mrs Vicki Murphy | Year 2 Teacher |
Ms Sheryl Murphy | Mathematics |
Ms Maggie O'Shaughnessy | Year 3 Teacher |
Mr Declan Sharp | Humanities |
Ms Samantha Sharpe | Art |
Dr Margaret Yoon | Humanities |
At Presentation Night, we specifically acknowledged Dr Yoon’s outstanding service since 1984. We also alluded to the fine contributions of Ms Alexander and Mrs Carnemolla for their excellent service since 1997.
Our Presentation Night was superbly coordinated by College Vice Principal, Mrs Kath Negus. We wish Mrs Negus well for her Semester One long service leave and acknowledge her wonderful contribution to the College.
The coming twelve months will be interesting in Western Australia as we move from being COVID free to living with COVID. Early next year, we will outline our COVID safety measures for 2022.
I wish all our community are holy and happy Christmas and thank everyone for their wonderful support throughout the year.
