Thank you to the 2021 Peer Support Leaders for their resilient approach to the program and effort in welcoming Year 7s to the BHHS community. BHHS Peer Support Leaders ran sessions earlier this year that helped Year 7s navigate difficulties associated with social labelling as well creating challenges to test their problem-solving abilities.
Looking ahead, another successful Peer Support Program is underway at Box Hill High School for 2022. 58 of our Year 9 students have been selected to help with the transition of junior students into the BHHS community. These students have been involved in a two day Peer Support Australia Training Course delivered by BHHS staff.

Peer Support Leaders have been up-skilled in their ability to run small games and think creatively about engaging with younger students. 2022 Peer Support Leaders also assisted incoming Year 7 students with their transition to secondary school at Orientation Day on Tuesday 7th December. So far, our leaders have run get-to-know-you games and activities and guided incoming students with their first full school day on campus.
Peer Support sessions will continue throughout the school year of 2022. The Peer Support team look forward to welcoming and supporting the newest member of the BHHS community.
Last but not least, BHHS Peer Support team would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr Paul Rogers who dedicated his time and effort to the BHHS Peer Support Program for the past few years as the peer support coordinator. We wish Mr Rogers all the best with his new position at another school.
