Amazing Art and Get on Your Bike!
Bike Fortnight
For the last two weeks we have been going up to the top playgrounds during lunch and recess, for Bike Fortnight. Rusty (our hard-working General Assistant) mowed these two large areas and also marked out tracks so the children could have fun on their bikes.
Thank you so much for supporting this event! All the children were able to ride a bike or a scooter over the past fortnight, thanks to parents and carers bringing bikes and scooters to the school.
It was really a fun fortnight! There were some excellent displays of bike riding skills and certainly an increase in stamina over the weeks.
Honu and Imogen found that they could not only ride a bike but could crash them too! (Who hasn’t got an old bike scar…) Aryon showed us how to be speedy without pedals! Oli showed us how to be a totally competent rider and crash land (by choice) as well. Marshall got some good height on the jump. Issi had a go with Myrtle’s tall bike, which even some of the teachers couldn’t reach the pedals on! Zai and Marshall showed that they can fix bike chain problems for others.
Once again, thank you for your support and don’t forget to come and collect the bikes over the next week. We will definitely put this event into the annual calendar.
Fabulous Art
The classrooms look beautiful at the moment with all the great art works the children have been producing.
Mrs Cecil did some beautiful mosaics with the whole school last week and the results were stunning!
Mrs Emerton worked with the whole school to make some amazing and colourful "creatures" using paper cutting and folding skills.
Library Books
As the end of the year approaches, we need to start sorting and collecting various resources. Could all library books be returned over the next few weeks so we can complete the stocktake of the library, please.
