Originality and Style

This semester saw the first of our 2016 Arts Competitions.  This was organized by our School Art Captain Kasia Odell.  The competition provided an opportunity for all students to complete and enter an original art work in any medium.  The topic was: Our environment.

Students from all year levels entered and the works covered many different disciplines.  There were paintings, drawings, photographs, film and video.  The works displayed great originality and style and choosing a winner was a very hard task.

The Judges decided on awarding a Year 7 – 9 and Year 10 – VCE prize.  The winners were awarded art supplies including an extensive pastel kit and a high quality water colour kit.

The Kew High School art department would like to congratulate Ava McDermott of 7B for her creative video “These Places” and Giorgia Benini of 10A for her painting of Florence.

We would like to thank all the students who entered. Keep an eye out for further exhibitions/competitions next semester.
