Adam Gotsis

Congratulations to Adam Gotsis (2005-2010) on his selection to play American football Defensive End for the Denver Broncos of the American National Football League.

After playing AFL and basketball in high school Adam developed an interest in American Football. With Kew High School’s support he was able to participate at a very high level while he completed the VCE.  In 2011 he was picked for the Australian Senior Gridiron team. By 2012 he was signed  to play College football for Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Adam has played with the Georgia Tech team for the last four years and successfully graduated last year. Friends, family and former teachers are not the least surprised that this determined young man has now been selected to play in the American National Football League.

Congratulations to Brydie Milburn (2010-2013) who went on to study at TAFE after finishing at Kew. She successfully completed a Certificate 1 in Work Education at NMIT and a Certificate 1 in Transition Education at Melbourne Polytechnic. Most recently she has achieved a Certificate II in Animal Studies at Melbourne Polytechnic. She is now very happy to be working at the Guide Dogs Association.

Tim Matthews  Staindl

After high school I took a year off study to work and travel, heading to Europe to stay with friends I’d made during my year 10 exchange in France. I’m still in touch with many of them, and would encourage anyone studying a language to do an exchange! Chatting to my mates overseas is a great way to keep up my French as well, and them their English (we take turns).

I began a Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium of Music in 2010, specialising in classical voice. Choral music, in particular, is probably my greatest passion, but making a full-time career of it is very difficult (in Australia at least). I applied for the Juris Doctor at UniMelb during my final year of music, secured a spot, and am about to finish my degree at the law school. Studying law is a fantastic, eye-opening experience and certainly not just for those who want to be lawyers.

Currently, I’m working a day a week at a family law firm whilst I study, and keep up a healthy amount of singing on the side. With a few friends I set up a choir called Polyphonic Voices and, amongst other things, we just did the back-up vocals at the Hilltop Hoods concert in Melbourne!
