Principal's Report

As we enter the second half of Term 4 we are planning for some events to conclude the current year and others that will set your child up for a successful 2022. As is continually the case this year, we are looking at how we can make these events as effective as possible while abiding by the ever-changing restrictions.

For our students graduating from Primary and Secondary school, our ceremonies will proceed as day events on Thursday, 2nd December (Year 12) and Thursday, 9th December (Year 6). All students will be involved in our Orientation Day on Tuesday, 7th December. As far as practicable, the students will move to the classroom they will be in and be taught by the teacher they will be with next year. Families of those students who are either new to the school, or will be changing sections, will be sent specific information regarding this via Compass in coming weeks.

The focus for our school has been on re-establishing routines for our students, engaging them in their learning and building connections with their peers and teachers. The attendance has generally been very good and we are extremely pleased with the way that the majority of our students have settled back into their schooling.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS AND PARENT/CARERS

Students

It is important to understand that government requirements regarding vaccination will affect the opportunity for your children, if they are of an age group that has had the opportunity for vaccination, to participate in extra-curricular activities outside of the school. Venues will have different requirements but please understand that your child may not be able to attend excursions or camps if they are not double vaccinated or have a medical exemption. Alternative programs will be provided at school for these students.

Parents/Carers

All parents and carers attending schools, including for drop off and pick up must also adhere to physical distancing, density limits, face mask requirements and practise respiratory etiquette and good hand hygiene.

Parents and carers who enter school buildings must also have had at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and must have had two doses of COVID-19 vaccine by 29 November 2021 or have a valid medical exception with some limited exceptions. Parents and carers attending any event or activity inside a school building including, but not limited to tours, graduations, performances, assemblies and interviews, are required to check in using the QR code and show evidence of vaccination.

Parents and carers attending school sites for drop off and pick up who do not enter school buildings do not need to comply with vaccination requirements.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this information.

Principal Award-  Shannon Brackley

Shannon has developed into a smiling, positive young man this year.  He has consistently worked hard in class as well as demonstrating some great leadership skills when working with others.

During remote and flexible learning, Shannon completed his set tasks by being a positive influence to others and is always happy to help those around him. Shannon has participated in the Kitchen Operations VET program this year and has produced many culinary creations.  Shannon is to be especially commended for taking great care when helping younger students be the best they can be. Shannon continued with this positive attitude once all students returned to school.  He has been able to overcome the many interruptions over the year and continues to work at a high standard, encouraging others to do the same and deserves to be rewarded for his efforts.

Well done Shannon!
