New multicourts

In 2022 the students on the William Cowper Campus will be accessing two new purpose built and fully enclosed Multi Sports Courts. Over the last six months we have been watching a once underused grassed area become something spectacular and undergo a transformation in and around the implications of COVID-19.

Read more about how this Master Plan investment will support our students from Head of PDHPE Mr Mark Lange.

New car park

After many months in the planning and approval process we are pleased to share the design for the William Cowper Campus car park redevelopment. This design will reduce the stress on Moore Creek Road during peak morning and afternoon pick-ups and drop-off for our community. This upgrade will also provide a much more accessible and convenient option for visitors accessing this campus. The project is open for tender and we are expecting the construction phase to commence during the school holiday period. A huge benefit of this project is an additional 150 car parking spaces along with upgrades such as storm water management, green spaces and lighting.

In other news, following the earlier announcement of Principal Mr. David Smith regarding the construction of another Multi Use Classroom block, Calrossy Board Chair Mr Dave Lamb  said, “The Calrossy Board is pleased to report that the next phase of the Calrossy Master Plan will commence late in 2021 with the construction of an additional building worth $6.1 million, to be ready in 2023.”

This building will incorporate a 300 seat tiered classroom, music facilities and learning spaces that will provide added flexibility for our academic staff, provide wonderful learning spaces for the students. Our Board remains focussed on the future, planning what the Calrossy of tomorrow will look and feel like. We are able to continue this planning with the added certainty that the Calrossy Foundation is engaging with our wider community in a meaningful way, providing valuable financial support, where possible.” Details on the layout and design of this building with be provided as soon as practicable, for our Community to review to see how this building will continue to provide for the needs of the students and staff at Calrossy well into the future.

Calrossy Cookbook

Having tinkered with the idea of a Calrossy Cookbook for quite some time, Simon Hartigan, Calrossy Head Chef and his team, with some encouragement from our Principal Mr David Smith and Head of Boarding Mrs Courtney Coe have created the first edition of the Calrossy Cookbook.

This cookbook details all of the classics that have been a favourite across the Boarding Houses and the School Community for years and years.

Many of our current students and Alumni will recall some of the sweet treats that came out of the kitchen like the ‘Mars bar slice’ for example. We are proud to say the recipe hasn’t changed in all of these years and it is still a favourite with the Boarders, Students and staff of Calrossy. To order your free copy follow this link:
