Presentation Day

Congratulations to all students who were awarded for academic, sporting or outstanding effort in the Secondary Presentation Day held last week. This event was recorded and photographed for the Calrossy community. They are expected to be uploaded to The Hub later this week, please check back shortly.

The images from the Year 12 Valedictory Dinner should also be made available this week.

2022 Classes and Staff Allocations

The processes in the Secondary School in planning for 2022 are complex. Some year groups and some subjects have classes which are streamed according to ability, others do not. In each case the structural decisions are based on what will be best educationally in that context.

The composition of each class is not taken lightly. In addition to the class structure, decisions are made with past performance in mind, teacher observation of which will suit various students best, combinations of students and appropriate class sizes.

Prior to timetabling, the Faculty Heads allocate the teachers for each class. This also involves balancing many factors and, in most cases, many hours of careful consideration.

The professionalism of the Faculty Heads and Executive should be trusted in these processes. Parent requests or correspondence will not be considered in what is a far more involved set of steps than might be apparent to a student or parent.

HSC - That's a wrap!

Calrossy's Investigating Science class was literally jumping for joy after completing their last HSC Exam on Thursday, December 2. Teacher, James Vimpany, and Principal, David Smith, joined them after the exam to celebrate the long awaited end to the HSC exams.

The Year 7 to 10 Semester 2 Reports are now available to be viewed via the parent portal on The Hub.

The School magazine "The Tamworthian" was distributed in the final week of school to students. It is expected the 2022 calendar will be handed out to students on the return to school.

The Uniform Shop is opening extra hours this week. The week commencing Monday December 6, opening hours will be 8am till 4:30pm every day. The Uniform Shop will then close on Friday, December 10 for the Christmas Break and reopen on Monday, January 24. Please make any bookings for uniform fittings as soon as possible as our new uniform changeover commences from the first day of School for 2022, January 28. Bookings can be made online through the Calrossy website.
