3-4 S.A.K.G

S.A.K.G News

In the kitchen, the last few weeks took us to Mexico with our themed cooking. We planted corn and learned about ingredients that are frequently used in Mexican dishes. Our students particularly enjoyed the nachos full of tasty salsa, guacamole and oozy cheese. We ended the year by decorating mini fruit cake puddings and wrapping them festively to gift to someone special.

Term 4 came to end very quickly and students have been busy getting the garden ready for our summer break. We planted seeds and seedlings, mulched and fed the garden to ensure the plants thrive. Hopefully when students return, there will be plenty to harvest for cooking.

Thank to those thoughtful parents who offered to assist this year. We have missed you. Due to Covid regulations, we are also unable to have volunteers on site this summer break to assist with looking after the garden and chicken.

The SAKG team will pop in during the break to ensure the girls are well fed and watered. However, we are crossing our fingers that restrictions should ease in 2021 so we can welcome parent volunteers back in our SAKG kitchen.

We hope you all have a safe break. Please continue to allow and encourage our little cooks to assist in the home kitchen and practise those essential skills learnt so far.

Happy cooking and gardening!
