It is fantastic to be hearing music being played in the Music Centre. As we all realised very quickly last year, while learning music is essentially an individual endeavour, the true joy comes when we play together. We are all looking forward to a full performance program in the Music department this year.
Congratulations to Cade Steenholdt and Ellie Bennier. Both finished school last year and have been accepted at Box Hill TAFE to study a Bachelor of Music. It is exciting to see students finding pathways in music and we wish them both all the best with their studies.

All lessons will start up next week. It is important that students check on Compass to see when their lesson will be. A term’s timetable will be provided at the first lessons so students can plan in advance.
All senior ensembles will also be up and running next week. Please note there is a change to the Intermediate Band time. This ensemble will now rehearse after school on Thursday from 3.30 pm-4.30 pm. This change has been made to limit the number of times students are coming out of their normal classes. If there are any issues with bus travellers, please contact the music department.
The junior band will start rehearsals on Monday 22nd February at lunchtime in the Music Centre.
Music Information Evening
There is an information night on Monday 8th February commencing at 7.00 pm and finishing at 7.45 pm in Malgobila, open to all families. If you are new to the music program or thinking about joining or an existing family we would love to see you. Information about all aspects of the music program will be presented and there will be time to ask questions. It is strongly advised that any Year 7 families already signed up or just interested in the program, should attend.
Join the Program
All year 7 students attended an information session in the Music Centre on Wednesday morning. Students met the staff, and were able to find out a bit about how the music program runs. All students were given an information sheet and enrolment form. There are some places still available on instruments, especially brass and woodwind. Interested students should return the enrolment form as soon as possible so they can be placed in a group and get started.
