Visitors Sign In Process

All visitors to Bairnsdale Secondary College are required to report to the Administration Office on arrival (see exceptions below in relation to parents/carers). 

Visitors must:

  • Record their name, signature, date and time of visit and who they are visiting on the Compass Kiosk
  • provide proof of identification to office staff upon request
  • produce their valid Working with Children Check where required by this policy (see below)
  • wear a visitor’s label at all times
  • wait to be met by a College staff member
  • follow instruction from College staff and abide by all relevant policies relating to appropriate conduct on school grounds including Child Safety Code of Conduct, Child Safety Policy, DET Sexual Harassment Policy, DET Workplace Bullying Policy, Statement of Values and School Philosophy
  • return to the office upon departure, sign out and return any visitor’s lanyard.

Exceptions to the above process are attendees at events outside of school hours and/or with a large audience (e.g. information nights, Year 7 Breakfast, Formal, Presentation Night). 

  • In these circumstances visitors must check in with the QR Code displayed
  • sign the visitors log upon entry if unable to check in

Finance Information

School Bus Program

Eligibility for bus travel is approved only for students to travel from their residential address to school and return.  Students who live more than 4.8 kms from their closest government or non government school are permitted bus transport.

 

Conveyance Allowance is a Government subsidy paid to families for students who travel more than 4.8 km to their nearest bus stop to attend their nearest  Government Secondary School. New families to the College who believe they may be eligible should enquire through the Network Bus Coordinator at the College.  Application forms can be obtained from the College.

 

Casual Bus Passes

The Bairnsdale Secondary College bus network does not issue casual bus passes.

Sports, sleep overs etc are all of a private nature which we do not cater for.

 

Fare Paying Bus Travellers

Bus fares for fare paying bus travellers are $120 per term. Term 1 bus fares are due for payment by Friday 19 February 2021. Please note to meet DET policy, travel cannot be continue to be approved where fares remain unpaid.

 

CSEF - Means tested

A reminder to families who hold a current concession card (HCC or Pension), temporary foster parent or a Veterans Affairs Gold Card to apply for the CSEF if you have not applied through the College previously. If you have applied for means tested CSEF through the College in previous years you do not have to reapply.

 

CSEF Application forms are available from Compass or the College website.

 

 

Year 7 Computer Lease Agreements

A reminder to Year 7 parents that we need the signed Computer Lease Agreement along with a deposit of $80 provided to the College prior to students receiving their device.

 

Payment Plans

We understand that many families experience financial pressures from time to time. If you are in this position we encourage you to contact us to discuss how we may assist you.

 

Payment plans can be set up using Centrepay, Bpay or Direct Deposit, and allow payment of school invoices over the course of the 2021 school year. It also provides access to school vouchers which can be used to purchase books and uniforms.
