Principal's Report

Message from the Principal

Every week seems to present a new challenge for us all and this week is no exception.

This morning the staff met online to create our plan for Remote Learning this week. Early this afternoon you should have received an email from your child's class teacher, outlining their learning tasks for the next few days. Included in the tasks are English, Math, RE and Inquiry Learning. The tasks require pencil and paper, rather than a device, to cater for all families.

If the lockdown continues into next week we will be sending home devices as required and we will upload all student tasks onto the St John's Home Learning Site. Please email me if you have any queries or concerns about the current situation.

This week also marks the beginning of the season of Lent, on Ash Wednesday, when we prepare ourselves for Easter. It is a time of renewal and new beginnings. We are called to take action during Lent, to serve others and strengthen our relationships. What action will you take to help others, throughout the Season of Lent?

Please note that there will be a whole School Closure Day in Term 2, on Monday 19 April.

The Staff will participate in Professional Development on this day.

Drop off and Pick up

Thank-you for your patience during drop off and pick up times, particularly during the building process. Please observe the 'Kiss and Drop' signs and time limits in the mornings at the front of the school, for the safety and consideration of everyone.

You may park on the basketball court before or after school, to drop off or pick up your children. Please do not park on the other side of the service road outside the front of the school. It is too dangerous for students to cross the road at this busy time and it is a no standing area.

COVID Safety

  • We continue to sanitize the students hands throughout the day.
  • All adults entering the school are asked to sign in and wear a mask.
  • If your child is unwell please keep them at home.

Camp Sport and Excursion Fund (CSEF)

The Victorian Government's Camp Sport and Excursion Fund offers a payment to families that have a current Centrelink Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or a Veterans Affairs Gold Card. Please refer to the application form and criteria on the Community News page in this newsletter for more information.

Baby News

Congratulations to Angela and Ben MacLean on the safe arrival of baby William, a little brother for Angus in Prep SK.

Thought for the Week

You have the power to leave a lasting positive impression on everyone that you meet. The power is in your smile and your attitude.

Have a great week!
