What's happening at CHPS

Performing Arts News

In lieu of Christmas Carols, our students are currently getting into the holiday spirit with some music themed holiday activities.  Additionally on Monday December 14th, CHPS will be holding its first ever ‘Xmas Active Afternoon’ during the school day.  Unfortunately we cannot involve parents in this event, due to COVID-19 restrictions about mass gatherings that are still in place, but rest assured there will be plenty of photos to keep the community involved in some small way.  There will be an obstacle course, a paper chain station, attempting to make the world’s largest paper chain, a photo booth and Mrs Kitching and myself will be teaching the kids a festive fun dance.  There will also be a picnic for Junior and Middle students. Students are encouraged to please bring a little bit extra in their snack on this day to enjoy during their picnic.  Nothing to share, again due to COVID restrictions.  However if it is individually wrapped that will be fine.  Hope you all have a happy holidays and spread plenty of joy and cheer.

Food for Families

This year, as in previous years, we are supporting Uniting's Food for Families Appeal, with collection boxes set up on the table in the foyer.  All non-perishable food and personal care items will be gratefully accepted for distribution to needy families over the Christmas period.  Some suggested donation items are below.

Collection will be during the last week of term, so offerings will need to be in boxes by

Monday December 14th.  As always, CHPS and Uniting are grateful for the generosity of our community in helping those in need.

Chicken-sitters needed for Christmas!

Our chickens are in need of a suitable holiday resort for Christmas.  Needs to be fox and other toothy animal-proof and loud conversations involving ovens, basting and "all the trimmings" are to be avoided.

In return, they offer a plentiful supply of eggs and a soothing presence in the back yard.

If you can provide a holiday haven, please email marc.purcell@education.vic.gov.au
