Principal's News

Dear friends and families,

Hopefully everyone saw last Friday's announcement of our new Principal Nigel Rodrigues. On Tuesday Nigel visited the school to meet the staff and students and was very warmly welcomed by everyone. Nigel is very excited to take over the role next year and will bring with him much experience and enthusiasm. I am positive Nigel with his gentle nature, warm disposition and leadership strength will be a great assest to our community.

For me, it has been a privledge undertaking this role during 2020 but I had informed Fr Huy and the CEM at the beginning of term that I would not be continuing beyond this year. I am looking forward to returning to my Deputy role in 2021 and my other outside interests that have been pushed aside this year, as well I look forward to supporting Nigel in his new role.

I also take this opportunity to say an enormous thankyou to Annabelle Marinelli who has also stepped up this year to cover the Deputy Role in addition to her Literacy role. Annabelle's hard work and support of myself and the community has been outstanding and at times exhausting.  I'm sure Annabelle is also looking to a very well deserved and relaxing holiday.

As I have mentioned many times our entire staff including teachers, LSO's and Admin have also  been fully supportive and extrememly hard working over this entire year. They have faced many challenges this year with having to change their teaching practice and investigate new ways of teaching remotely. At all times the staff have been most professional, reliable and adaptable whilst continuing to show good humour and support of each other.

School Sports

Everyone had a great time last Friday participating in the School Sports Day. Congraulations to Loyola the winning Team and Manresa the Spirit Cup winners. Our House Captains showed extraordinary leadership organising and facilitating the day.

Year 6 Fun Day

The year 6's had the opportunity to celebrate the end of their Primary School years at Luna Park yesterday. They had a great day and were totally exhausted on their return. Teachers reported exemplary behaviour and manners from all our students.

Now the senior students are excited about camp next week.

School Crossing

As everyone would appreciate, it is very important to teach our children road safety. We do have a school crossing at the front of our school. We ask, for the safety of everyone, could you please use this crossing and not cross on the corner of Kent and Davison.

St Mary's College (formally CBC) St.Kilda

Last Tuesday Christian Brother's College St.Kilda East announced that from next year they will now be St Mary’s College, St Kilda East.  St Mary’s College is a Catholic co-educational secondary school in the Edmund Rice tradition, located across two campuses in East St Kilda and Windsor.  We wish all involved in the College every success and ask for God’s blessings as Christian Brothers College (CBC) and Presentation College Windsor (PCW) draw together to continue the next phase in a proud history of education in the East St Kilda Precinct.
