Assistant Principal's Report

Mr Lockhart

Welcome

A big welcome back to everyone ……… let's hope we are at school all year. I trust everyone had a fulfilling break and is ready to get cracking in 2021.

SWPBS

Attached is our Expected Behaviour Matrix, which is just a reminder to all students, parents, guardians and carers on what is expected of them when they arrive at school.  We focus on all expected behaviours but for the next three weeks we are paying special focus on three expected behaviours:

  1. Arrive on time with my materials – Responsibility
  2. Use manners and kind words – Repectful
  3. Build and look after friendships – Resilence.

Each staff member will be given 6 GOTCHA cards (2 for each value) and 15 burn bucks per week to acknowledge a student when they achieve the expected behavioiur.

Swimming Sports – BBQ Lunch

Friday 12/2 is our first whole school event – our Swimming Carnival.  We want all students to attend, participate, dress up in house colours and have fun. This is a fun day and a chance to build school spirit and pride.  Please ensure your students attend. We are having a homeroom competition – if every student turns up, in their house colours in a particular homeroom, that homeroom will receive free lunch orders for a week. Buses will pick students up from the pool. There will be a free BBQ lunch. The canteen will be closed on this day.  Parents, guardians and carers are welcome to attend.

Hats

Students are required to wear a navy blue broad brim or bucket hat with a school logo for Terms 1 and 4. Please ensure your student has a school hat ready to go every day for Term 1.

Early school time arrival

Just a reminder to families and students that students should not arrive earlier than 8:40am. Secondary students are to be in the Library quadrangle and primary students are to remain in the BER and primary eating area prior to 9.00am.

COVID

Bubble taps are open. Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle. Upon entry and exit of classrooms, remember to sanitise. If you are unwell and have flu like symptoms please remember to stay home.
