MPS Carnival 2017- Saturday 18th November

MPS BIENNIAL CARNIVAL, 2017
Saturday 18th November, 12pm to 8pm
Please join us for a family fun day and twilight event.
Carnival Countdown: 81 days to go!
Last Call for Raffle Prize Donations!
The MPS carnival raffle is a major component of the event’s fundraising and our prize pool must be finalised by this Friday. We’re calling for MPS families to dig deep to donate a prize themselves or to prompt their employers, friends and family members who may be able to donate some attractive prizes towards our prize pool. The official ‘MPS Donation Letter’ that some businesses require to proceed with donations is attached.
Please register your donation to: raffle@mpscarnival.com.au
If you’ve already indicated you can assist – thank you! We’d be most grateful if you could please finalise these arrangements by Friday Sept. 1st.
Become a MPS Carnival Sponsor!
The MPS twilight carnival packages have been finalised and are officially on sale! We’d like to formally extend an invitation to local businesses to become a sponsor for the upcoming Murrumbeena Primary School twilight carnival, being held on November 18th, from 12pm to 8pm. To ensure maximum sponsor exposure, a limited number of sponsorship opportunities have been created within the Gold, Silver and Bronze packages available, which close on the 22nd of September. For details on sponsorship, or other ways you may be able to support our event please contact sponsorship@mpscarnival.com.au or contact Michelle Letho.
Position, Position, Position
Do you live in a high profile location? Are you able to have a sign outside your property promoting the carnival for 4 weeks prior to the event? There are very few real estate board opportunities available via the three councils we border and we’d be grateful for signage opportunities.
Bring your Friends and Family!
By now, we hope all families have marked Saturday November 18th in the calendar to attend our twilight carnival biennial fundraiser! To ensure the MPS carnival is successful, we need record attendance levels. Get in early and invite your friends and family from outside our school to come to the event now! With great food and entertainment options, come for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner – or spend the whole day with us! With our unlimited ride pass tickets going on sale soon, it’s going to be a day out to remember.
Craft Stall
Thank you to all those who came to our first ‘Crafternoon’ session on Sunday. Stay tuned for information on the next one!
If you'd like to help work on some craft projects at home, please contact Georgie via: volunteer@mpscarnival.com.au
We found someone to LOVE!
Our call for help was answered! Thanks to Deanna Hewett for kindly offering to help us plan and create a hard copy version of the newsletter: dgeh@bigpond.net.au
Stay tuned for our first edition next week.
Stallholders Required
Our mix of stalls promises to offer everyone an amazing day; however we still have some stalls that require co-coordinators.
The following stalls will run for 3.5 hours each and do not require much work - you could even get some kids to assist you!
Jewellery Making – we have already sourced a number of beads; you just need to obtain the rest of the supplies.
Sharpie Mugs – You will need to purchase the mugs and sharpies and prepare some take home care instructions for the mugs.
Juggling Balls – this activity requires only balloons, rice and creativity.
Christmas Decorations – we have already found decorations and have requested embellishments from families.
Badge & Keyring Making – We have hired the machine. You just need to make it happen!
Emoji Cookies – Cookies, icing and lollies with expression. Let’s see what the senior students come up with.
Other stalls on offer are:
Photobooth - this will run all day and will simply require parents to take money, organise props, etc.
Crazy Hair - Coloured hair and mohawks.
Plants - What better way to showcase our amazing Stephanie Alexander garden than with a plant stall on carnival day.
Please respond to:
volunteer@mpscarnival.com.au if you are interested in coordinating or being involved in helping with these stalls.
We’re working on an online app to make it easier for helpers to register and for you to coordinate your stall. Stay tuned for details!
Staging
We have an exciting and full entertainment program coming together for this year’s Carnival. Other schools have been able to loan a truck trailer as a stage or had a parent with access to a suitable staging and marquee to minimise costs. If you can help, please get in touch via: Carnival2017@mpscarnival.com.au
