School Council

REPORT
Joining school council this year has been a great and enjoyable opportunity to meet and work with parents from across the school community.
CONCERT
Our school concert is coming up soon. Tickets are still available and you are most welcome to invite extended family to attend.
The concert is on 19th September and is a wonderful celebration of our children’s developing performance skills.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS
As mentioned in recent newsletters, the school requires all parents to have a current Working with Children Check for assisting on excursions. It is not necessary for classroom help, but it is easy to access, very useful and free as a volunteer.
GLEN EIRA COUNCIL
School Council briefly discussed Glen Eira Council proposed changes to the local Murrumbeena (village) community. Aspects for school council to consider included impacts on traffic flow for school and children walking/riding to school.
CARNIVAL
Our school carnival team shared some of their wonderful planning and we are all getting very excited about our carnival on Saturday, 18th November.
Many hands make light work and they would love some more support/volunteers from our school community. Some of the jobs are quite small, but it would be wonderful if some parents could volunteer an hour or so to help tick off some of the pre- event planning. Please contact the team if you can assist.
Also, don’t forget to start asking friends and family to attend and join you in having lots of fun at school. Sharing the Murrumbeena Primary Carnival Facebook page is another way you can share the event and help us promote the carnival to the wider community.
CANTEEN
Finally, the canteen subcommittee is investigating online lunch ordering systems. They hope to find a suitable program so that parents would have an online option for 2018.
I hope you enjoy hearing a little more about our recent school council meetings and find the information valuable.
