WWCC- WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK

In line with new Child Safe Standards, we ask all parents who are helping with excursions, or would like to help out in future excursions, to have a volunteer WWCC. These are free for volunteers and are easily obtained from:    http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

Once you are registered or have your card, can you please bring a copy to the office to ensure you are included on our register.

HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDED FOR THE UPCOMING CARNIVAL

At MPS we have a hardworking group of parents who are busily preparing for the carnival on Saturday 18th November.  We would like to assist them by finalising all sponsorship and raffle donations ASAP. Then we can begin our advertising campaign. To do this, we need some volunteers who are able to present the packages available, contact suppliers and help complete this process. Our carnival team have all of the information ready and will meet parents who can offer assistance. Our aim is to find a group who can contact five or six companies each to share the load.

Please come and see me in the office, introduce yourself and we will put you in contact with our carnival co-ordinators.

2018 ENROLMENTS

We are now planning budgets and staffing for 2018. I would like to remind families with children who will be beginning school in 2018 that we are taking enrolments now, and that they are also closing rapidly, but we still have a very small number of positions available. I strongly encourage you to ensure you return your child’s enrolment form to Lynne D in the main office as soon as possible.

We also ask that members of our school community assist us by informing any of their neighbours of the enrolment procedures and direct them to the office to collect an enrolment form.

School tours are available every second Wednesday morning commencing at 9:30 with the next tours on 30th August and the 13th September. Please call the school on 95681300 to book a tour.

If you are not returning to MPS in 2018, can you please let the office know in writing so that we can finalise our class structures ASAP.

SUNSMART REMINDER

Our SunSmart policy of wearing broad-brimmed hats whilst outside will come into effect this week on Friday 1 September.

We are following these guidelines:

*The sun protection times from the Bureau of Meteorology tell you the time of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher. At these levels, sun protection is recommended for all skin types. In Victoria, UV levels regularly reach 3 or higher from mid-August to the end of April.

Please ensure your child has an appropriate hat in their bag.
