Goal Mentoring Program

One of the more successful outcomes during the remote learning was having our junior students graduated from the Western Bulldogs Goal Mentoring ProgramThe WBCF GOAL mentoring focus of 2020 was to mentor young people who are living in Melbourne’s West, aged 13-15 years old. The program aims to create social capital in connecting young people with successful AFL/AFLW players, mentors, and community leader’s across the broader western Melbourne area.

Four junior students:

  • Majok Ciengkou, Year 8
  • Riek Chuol, Year 8
  • Eva Kaku, Year 9

successfully completed the program receiving a certificate from the WBCF and Melton Secondary College for having done well in showing their leadership skills and College STARR Value of “Success”.

Melton Health Champions – Organised by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation Partnership with the City of Melton – 9 and10 December 2020

The program aims to support and build capacity of young people to deliver community based support and leadership around outbreak management, Covid19 prevention, with associated factors such as mental and social wellbeing, and building the capacity and resilience of young people within the City of Melton

Through the existing networks of the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, the Melton Health Champions Program aims to train young people from diverse backgrounds to disseminate messaging within their communities, providing a platform of confidence in the support of these communities. Having young people engaged in the program increased their chance of employment skills, connecting with community and organisational mentors, increasing their knowledge to assist with their leadership and networking skills.
