Principal's Address

Dear Families of Killester,

This newsletter remains reasonably brief as we prepare for the return of students to the College in the coming weeks. Communication regarding the protocols we will be adopting will be sent to all families tomorrow via Edsmart. We request that families take the time to read this communication thoroughly and discuss with your daughters. Should you have any concerns please raise them with your daughter's Homeroom Teacher or Student Development Leader.

This issue of the newsletter celebrates the many ways in which the community of Killester have been successful in navigating the challenges of remote learning and, in many instances, using it as an opportunity to shine. I congratulate the students who have done such an amazing job with their Passion Projects and look forward to the celebration and recognition of this rich learning when students return to school.

Inserted here are a few images, one shows the prayer we used at our Unit 3 assembly last week. It is a beautiful prayer from Kildare Education Ministries and talks of us being part of a community with "listening hearts", it is in this listening that our prayer remind us "we cannot cease from journeying" and that we need to "create the path to journey by new and different way", a prayer indeed for our times. The other images show our magnificent students who all arrived on time (over 170 of them) to the assembly, a whole new way of communicating in this challenging world.

We are very much looking forward to the return of our students, we know this return will be couched with some anxiety and we will spend considerable time at school with students helping them to manage this is an appropriate way. Our staff and students have a great deal to be proud of, thus far we have managed to show resilience, determination and of course, strength and kindliness in our response to this international crisis. Our prayers for all those impacted, both here and abroad continue.
