Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

Welcome back to the second last newsletter of the term! I don't know whether the term has flown....or dragged. A bit of both really in these strange times. I have certainly learnt a lot as I am sure you all have too.

Both Federal and State governments have foreshadowed changes to what we can and can't do regarding the COVID 19 situation. If things change for schools I will communicate this out via Seesaw as changes occur.

In looking forward to 2021 we now have 22 enrolments for Foundation. I look forward to planning for two small Foundation classes in our new junior wing for 2021. A reminder that with many existing St Anne's families having a younger sibling commencing next year please continue to let prospective parents know about our school at the Kinders and Childcare Centres that your children attend. As I chat to prospective parents I always seek to establish common ground with them and ask if they know anyone already at the school. Most parents this year have said they have had our school recommended to them by a friend.

Matthew's gospel this weeks asks us to have ‘the strength of their convictions’.

Speaking about your journey to faith can be quite a challenge. When I am meeting with prospective parents I always ensure that I mention that there a whole lot of areas in which you can weigh up the merits of schools but to come to St Anne's you must be aware we are a school where our faith is celebrated.

Parent Teacher interviews will be on Wednesday 22 July 2.00-6.30pm and Thursday 23 July 3.45-6.30pm which are in Week 2 of Term 3.  Just this once they will be on-line. These meetings will be for 10 minutes commencing at the set time you select on www.schoolinterviewsonline.com. Enter in the code jcasy. Then go in and select the timeslots that suit you and you will receive a confirmation email. In the days before the interviews the class teachers will email out an online meeting invitation. Reports will be provided for the first semester being sent home with your child at the end of next week.

Flexibuzz is no longer available to the school as the app is closing down. This is the app we have used for a considerable time in communicating messages out to families.  After much research and discussion we have decided that we will use Seesaw announcements to share information with the school community. This will start as at the 26th of June as Flexibuzz closes on the 30th June.

A couple of 'thank yous' to finish off. This week we had Flynn (Foundation) and his family donate 3 young hens to add to our lonely last chook. They seem happy so far. Thanks also to the families during this term who have kindly dropped off bits and pieces for the staff- it has been much appreciated.

May God Bless you.

Let your light shine!
