PDHPE Faculty

Term 3 has seen the return of sport an physical activity, at Kingswood High School. As a result, we have been able to create a new and engaging opportunities for students to be physically active.

In compliance with the new Sports Safety Guildlines, Year 10 Girls have contributed to the new sports modules that they participate in weekly, enabling them to develop skills in fitness, recreation and competitive sports.

The PDHPE faculty would like to thank the Senior Sport Coaching students for their assistance in implementing the sporting schools program of Touch Football. Students did a great job in leading organising their junior peers, as well as contributing to their VET work experience. Students effectively demonstrated key components of the Sport Coaching course whilst providing learning opportunities to junior students.

Unfortunately, representative sport has largely been cancelled by the Department’s Sports Unit. However, many classes are planning and participating in the Kingswood High School Mini Olympics. This project will provide students with the chance to demonstrate their  ability amongst their peers and enjoy the challenge of competition. The PDHPE faculty, values, opportunities for physical activity and its impact on student health and wellbeing, and we encourage this promotion at home in these tough times.

Finally, the Targeted Athlete Programs have concluded their data collection on athlete performance. This data is being used to tailor each  program and provide the best opportunities for athletic development. Students have performed well and continue to develop their skills in their chosen program.
