WOWSERS!!!

We are so proud of the generosity which was shown by our amazing School Community. In support of Homelessness Week we rasied $365.50, which has been donated to Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service (DRERS) to support those in need across our local community.

We were so impressed with the gratitude art pieces, we have put them all together in a movie; which we will be sharing with our community next week.

Cake Decorating, and Cooking Challenge!

During Remote Learning, lots of our students have been finding more time to help out in the kitchen (which is a great bonus to being stuck at home). Therefore, we want you to show us your cooking skills!!!

Challenge One: Cake Decorating

If you love making (and eating) cakes then this is the challenge for you!

We would like as many families as possible to join in our cake decorating challenge.

It's easy- all you have to do is:

  1. Ask permisison from your family to bake some cakes.
  2. Decorate the cakes- get fancy and creative!
  3. Upload images of your cake and decorations via Google Classrooms
  4. Have you cake making skills shared with our community via our next newsletter

Details of the link required to upload your 'cake decorating' images will be posted by Miss Bowles into Google Classrooms on Monday 24/09/2020.

The closing date for the challenge is Monday 31st August.

Challenge Two: Cooking Masterpieces

Do you have a favourite dish? Is there a signature meal which your family is well-known for? Do you want to share your amazing cooking skills with everyone? If so, then show us your "Cooking Masterpieces!"

It's easy- all you have to do is:

  1. Ask permission from your family to cook a masterpiece.
  2. Add in a bit of flair, set-up a fancy dining table, etc; be creative!

School Council News

School Council met on Monday 17th August via Webex for our fourth meeting for the year. Within the remote context, School Council continues to review school finances, maintenance schedules and policy updates. All updated policies are published on the school website for the community's information.

In light of the current situation and with consideration of the many stressors that families are balancing, DET has allowed school councils to reduce the mandated number of meetings from eight to six in 2020. As a group we decided to reduce our meetings for the year to seven, agreeing to cancel the meeting scheduled for September.

When we meet in October, we will be commencing a School Council self assessment process, in order to identity our strengths as a group and opportunities for improvement in readiness for 2021. At this time, we will also begin reviewing the 2021 budget.
