Classroom News - Year 3

End of Term

We are finishing another term and what an interesting one we have had. All students have worked so hard this term with the changes and challenges we have faced and we are extremely proud of the breakthroughs they have made.

Space Narrative

In English we have been working very hard on writing, publishing and illustrating our own narratives. These have been a project we have been working on since our return to school and the outcome is amazing. We look forward to sharing our creations once finale publishing has occurred.

Maths

In Maths we have been working hard on our timetables and developing our understanding of chance. Students are showing great engagement in the hands on activities we are engaging in and timetable tiggy is proving to be a big hit!

Religion

In our Religion lessons we have enjoyed listing to and learning some new hymns.  There have been some beautiful moments whilst listening when everyone starts singing along that always brings a smile.  We are also been learning about Pentecost and the wonderful work of the St Vincent De Paul Society.

Coping with Challenges

Our focus for PDH the last few weeks of term was been learning to understand how to cope with challenges. During our current climate we have all had to learn to adjust and think about simple everyday task in a different way. Students have used their prior and new understanding of this concept to work towards creating escape from the island scenarios.

We spent a lesson also exploring a range of tools that we could use when we are in the different Zones of Regulation. This was a big hit with all students! We have seen an increase in students feeling more confident and comfortable in using the Zones' tools when they feel they are needed.

Returning School Books

Just a reminder that there are still a number of students who have not returned their books that were sent home to be covered last term. If these could please be returned to school ASAP it would be greatly appreciated.

Holidays

We want to wish everyone a very safe and enjoyable holidays and we look forward to seeing everyone ready to learn and refreshed in Term 3.
