Mid Year Awards
Nominations for Mid-Year Awards
At this time of year, our school community normally gathers to recognise the hard work and achievements of our students with the presentation of awards and certificates. Typically, we would acknowledge students who have achieved remarkable feats in various fields of endeavour.
The impact of COVID-19 and remote learning means that the presentation of awards in 2020 is going to look different from previous years. In addition to our usual awards, we are also looking to recognise excellence in individuals who have found a way to thrive in these unprecedented times.
We are calling for nominations from carers and parents who have observed excellence in any field from a Glen Eira College student.
Examples could include:
- A student who has provided assistance and support to their siblings during remote learning.
- A student who has persevered with their sports/music practice despite social distancing requirements.
- A student who has served their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nominations will close on 11:59pm on Tuesday 4th August.
Following the closure of nominations, awards will be presented in three categories:
- Academic Excellence awards will recognise outstanding academic achievement across the breadth and depth of the curriculum. Award winners will be nominated by their teachers.
- Endeavour awards will be presented for outstanding effort, attitude and application by students. Award winners will be nominated by their teachers.
- Special awards acknowledge excellence in the fields of family, sport, special interests, and community service during remote learning. Award winners will nominated by their carers/parents
We look forward to celebrating our young people’s success with you in the near future.
