Week 1 Term 3
I hope everyone had a wonderful break and are raring to get back into the routine of school. Staff are excited to start the term with face-to-face teaching and begin the term revisiting routines and expectations as we once again find our teaching and learning groove.
I would like to inform the school community that Miss Sharon Kelly has been appointed the K-2 Instructional Leader for the remainder of 2020. Miss Kelly looks forward to working in all classes K-2 in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
In these uncertain times, I would like to reiterate that the school remains vigilant in our approach to COVID-19. Please make yourself familiar with current protocols on the COVID-19 page of this week's newsletter. This includes only entering school grounds if absolutely necessary. If your child is tested for COVID-19, please inform the front office and advise when the all clear is given.
In Week 10, the school celebrated NAIDOC Week with numerous activities.
Many thanks to Miss Cindy, Sissy, Julie and Kimmy who helped out throughout the week to immerse and educate our students about the importance of NAIDOC.
Thank you to Mr Lardner for his technical talent in putting together the videos throughout the week.
Library days for students this term are as follows:
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly the support of students with disability.
The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to to be identified - the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government's Privacy Policy www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy.
Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal.
If you have any questions about the NCCS, please contact the school.
School photos will be taken on Tuesday 4th August. Envelopes went home with students last term. Every student must return their envelope even if you are not buying photos. The instructions are on the envelopes and are self explanatory.
Family photo order envelopes are held in the office and will only be given out on request.
