Level crossing removal works –disruption to the Belgrave and Lilydale lines
We’re removing the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert by lowering the rail line beneath the roads in an open trench and building a new premium station with better facilities and more services.
To safely complete these works, there will be disruptions to local roads and rail services on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines, including on weekdays.
As per our previous correspondence, these disruptions are scheduled during the school term, and it is important for staff, students, and parents to be aware that there may be delays to their journey. When travelling to and from school, passengers should plan their journey in advance and allow for additional travel time while works take place on sections of the Belgrave and Lilydale lines.
Belgrave and Lilydale lines
From 8.30pm Friday 8 July to last service Sunday 24 July buses will replace trains on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines.
On weekdays, buses will replace trains between Camberwell and Box Hill. There will also be impacts to your weekend services during this period.
During the morning and afternoon peak, an express service will operate between Camberwell and Blackburn to make your journey as quick as possible.

Train Replacement Buses, Windsor Crescent, Surrey Hills

The train replacement bus stop on Windsor Crescent (station side) will be operational and serviced by a shuttle bus to Box Hill Station. Alternatively, passengers can walk to a temporary train replacement bus stop on Canterbury Road for express services and shuttle services to Box Hill Station. Passengers travelling from Box Hill Station via Windsor Crescent to Canterbury Road need to board a shuttle bus from Box Hill Station. |

| Surrey Hills Station temporary closure | From 7am Saturday 9 July to 7am Monday 18 July, Surrey Hills Station will be temporarily closed. While the station is closed, all facilities will be unavailable, including myki. New myki card purchases, or balance top ups can be made at ptv.vic.gov.au/myki or at neighbouring stations. Access to the station underpass, will be maintained via the stairs only on Windsor Crescent. A Wheelchair Accessible Taxi will be on standby on Windsor Crescent and Bedford Avenue to provide additional access across the rail corridor. |
