School Council Meeting Update – Term 2 2022

In the spirit of National Volunteer week I would like to thank all parents, carers and staff who volunteer within our school.  There are many volunteers in our school community that participate in School Council, CHAPS and MOTHS; and many who help out in the classroom, during sporting events and camps. So if you are one of these people that volunteer a little or a lot of your time, or donate supplies/funds in lieu of your time, I would like to thank and acknowledge you all.  Your community service efforts are valued and assist in making our community such a great one.

Highlights from our May 18th Meeting:

  • Thanks to Chelsea for representing JSC, outlining how much she is enjoying her role as a JSC class rep and providing us with an update from their past couple of meetings. Some great collective suggestions will be shared with Mr Holdsworth today at their weekly meeting.
  • All nine subcommittees have met this term and there is some great work being conducted and planned for the year ahead.
  • School Council accepted and endorsed the Cash Budget for CHPS for 2022.
  • School Council approved its financial contribution towards the planned Interior Upgrade, after receiving the incredibly positive news that the majority of the funding will be provided through the Minor Capital Works Fund (MCWF).  This funding is going to provide important upgrades to the facilities within our school, particularly around replacing existing ceilings and electrical work.
  • CHAPS and MOTHS continue their valued work this term, with various fundraisers and fun events.  I enjoyed receiving my Mother’s Day gifts and my daughter really enjoyed buying them.  Good luck with the upcoming sausage sizzles and events this term and THANK YOU.

NEXT MEETING - Wed June 15th 2022 at 7:30pm
