Diocesan Rugby
On Monday 23 May, St Xavier's sent a team of 15 rugby players to the Diocsan Rugby Trials in Tamworth. The day served as both the Armidale Diocesan Catholic Schools Knockout Competition and Armidale Diocesan Rugby Selection Trials. A big thanks to Mr Thurbon, Mr Mooney and Mr Crane who travelled with the boys.
Congratulations to Archie Swain, Ned Thompson, Kade Bush and Ted Sheedy who were selected for the Armidale Diocesan Rugby Team to compete at the NSWCPS Rugby Championships in Forbes in June.
NSWCPS Cross Country
Best of luck to John Sheedy, Ruby Cygan, Josh Spinks, Lara Torrens, Maggie Brown, Sienna Edmunds, and Ted Sheedy who have all made the Diocesan Team to compete at the NSWCPS Cross Country next week at Eastern Creek.
Primary Schools Rugby 7's Regional Finals
On Tuesday 3 May, St Xavier's participated in NSW Rugby's Primary Schools Rugby 7's against other local schools in Gunnedah. This pathway competition is hosted by NSW Rugby. St Xavier's had a very successful day and the Yr 6 boys have now progressed to the the Primary Schools Rugby 7's Regional Finals which will be held on Tuesday 7th June in Tamworth.

Armidale Diocesan Toni Palmer Memorial Shield Rugby League.
Wednesday 29th June 2022 - Kamilaroi Oval, Byron Street, Inverell
Schools are invited to nominate a full team or individual nominations to create a team to enter into the Toni Palmer Memorial Shield. This is a pathway opportunity to the Independent and Catholic Primary Schools Challenge. The Northern semi-final is held in Port Macquarie on 4th August 2022. The winning team will progress through to this game. Please note that only full school teams can be progressed through to this challenge. IMPORTANT: this is an expression of interest only and is open to Year 5 and Year 6 students. If we have too many nominations, a trial will be held at school. If we do not get enough nominations, we may not go. Transport to this event (and further pathways) will be the responsibility of parents. As this is a pathway opportunity, nominees should have experience playing rugby league. Please submit the below form if you would like your child to nominate.
