APPLIED COMPUTING: UNIT 2O1 INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

“The best way to predict the future is to create it” Drucker, P (2009)

This outcome is a very real-world experience for the students giving them an opportunity to investigate their creative knowledge and put them into action by designing and implementing proof of concept of a chosen innovation.

The students build their interpersonal, communication, social and life skills giving them a teaser of possible future entrepreneur skills.

We form networks, practice time management, make informed decisions, and foster leadership qualities during this outcome.

Find the journey of my students below.

Upon completing this unit, we are to work collaboratively in groups to develop an innovative solution involving a digital system for an identified need or opportunity. Our group is developing an advanced hearing aid with functions that can assist people with hearing loss and can translate imputed audio into different languages. This experience can improve my problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.

Our innovation idea is a smart backpack that is paired with a mobile app used to keep track of all items stored. This is done by users scanning their items and our mobile app is designed to calculate the weight of all items carried and make suggestions about the healthy range for a person to be carrying based on their age, stature, and the average amount of exercise
