John XXIII Netball Club

After two very warm Saturdays we are in for some cooler weather this weekend. Let’s hope the rain stays away.

COVID-19

With so much COVID around please advise your coach and manager as soon as possible if you can not attend your game. Finding fill in players at the last minute can be difficult and late forfeits are expensive.

Close contact rules

Just to clarify the rules around playing if you are a close contact. Per the directive from Netball WA.

Under the close contact rules, asymptomatic close contacts are not required to isolate but must undertake a RAT and obtain a negative result.

The usual exemptions apply for mask wearing  which includes doing vigorous exercise. Therefore they can attend training and games and not wear a mask whilst participating in netball.

Fill-in Players

There are a lot of rules and protocols set by Perth Netball Association around playing for another team. The fines and penalties can be steep. Please advise the Club Coordinator if you need a fill in player or if you have used a player in an urgent situation.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Please remember the rules are in place to protect all participants.

  • No jewellery: Jewellery is not permitted on court, not even taped. It is a safety hazard. Please do not put junior umpires in the position of having to confront parents to remove jewellery.
  • No chewing gum: Chewing gum is not permitted on court at any time.
  • Nails must be short and filed smooth. It is best to do this the night before the game as a lot of time is wasted court side when players need to cut their nails.
  • Parents and spectators must remain stationary on the sideline.
  • Parents and spectators are not allowed to stand along the base/goal line.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

This is the last game before regrading. You will be advised next week if your team has changed division.

  • Bloomers must be worn
  • Nails must be short and filed smooth
  • No jewellery, not even taped. Girls will be asked to leave the court if they have jewellery on.
