Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carer’s,

What a start we've had to Term 2!

Firstly I wish to thank all of the special women in our students' lives who came to our Mother's Day breakfast last Thursday. It was such a pleasure to be able to welcome so many people to our school to celebrate the women in our community that are integral to our families. Thank you to all of our volunteers on the day, we greatly appreciate your time.

School photos will be taken this Tuesday for all students. Please remember that full winter uniform is to be worn. Even if you are not purchasing any photos this year, all students will still need to have an individual photo for the purposes of school records.  

This week also sees our Year 3 and 5 students participating in NAPLAN assessments. These assessments will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure that your children attend school on these three days.  Students can, at times, have some nervousness around NAPLAN. It is really important for parents to ensure that students understand that NAPLAN is just a snapshot in time of where they are up to with their learning.

The next  meeting of the Sacred Heart P & F will be taking place this Tuesday 10 May at 5:30pm, all are welcome.  

Our Transition to school program continues each Thursday. It was so lovely to see the smiling faces of our new friends as they returned to K-2 last week. Even though the  2023 Transition to School program commenced, if you know of anyone intending to enrol for 2023 please encourage them to contact me at the school.

With the commencement of Term 2, there will be the change over from summer to winter uniform. There will be a transition period between the two uniforms according to the weather for the first four weeks of Term 2. During this transition period students are either to wear their summer uniform or their winter uniform but not a combination of the two. Please remember that sports jackets are only to be worn with the sports uniform and the navy jumper is to be worn with the formal school uniform. The only amendment to this during the four week period will be school photo day where all students will need to attend in their full winter uniform.

A special mention to Mrs Goddard who celebrates her birthday tomorrow 10th May. Enjoy your special day!
