From the Principal

Happy 2020 to all and welcome to what promises to be a wonderful school year.  It is always a great time of the year to catch up with students and hear their holiday stories.  We welcome back Shannon Correll in her role as Deputy Principal for term 1.  Shannon will be with us for the term, before taking up her role as Principal at St Brigid's.

A very special welcome to the new students and their families who have joined our school community this year.  We especally welcome: Madison, Stephanie, Mia, Kavya, Abigail, Hilary, Imad, Nicholas, Joel, Kori, Adrien, Tadgh, Khoi, Eli, Aaron, Kenny, Charlie, Declan,  Aviveer and Euan, all in Reception and Simreet in Year 1, Sreya in Year 3 and Ronveer in Year 4.   We also say a special welcome to Ms Megan Maloney (Reception), Miss Amanda French ( Year 1) and Mr Matthew Burness ( Year 4 ) who have joined our staff.

For those who have been into the school this week you would have seen the significant changes that have taken place over the Christmas break.  Along with the re-allocation of learning areas, capital works have taken place in the Fr Leon Czechowicz building and in what was the Art/Italian Room.  If you haven't had the chance to see the changes,  I encourage you to come in for a look.  The renovations to the Art/Italian Room have allowed for the re-location of OSHC.  If you require this service, please access it through the  Barrington Avenue gate.

Speaking of Barrington Avenue, the school bus stop has been re-located to it.  This stop is purely for the service that transports a group of our students each day to and from school.  Please be aware of the  BUS ZONE street signage when dropping off and picking up.

We will be have two Assemblies each term this year.  Gatherings that all community members are invited to attend. They will be on Thursday afternoons in the gym, commencing at 2 15. The first of these will be hosted by our year 6 students, on Thursday, February 13.

A big thank you to Dawn Gray who volunteered in the uniform shop last week.  Dawn has done a brilliant shop with the setting up of the room and assisting families.  If you have some time you can offer each week to assist Dawn that would be much appreciated. Just 30 minutes one morning would be of assistance.   Please leave your name at the front office.  Having the shop on site allows families to access uniform requirements easily and at greatly reduced prices.

Have a great weekend and I'm looking forward to the year ahead.
