NEW - Science Grade 5/6 Area

This term the grade five - sixes are learning about science as a part of their inquiry topic. In this unit, we will learn about how we can change states of matter from Miss Junor, about electricity from Mr Woodward, light from Mrs Hicks and from Mrs Davkovski we will learn about Balloon rockets. All this research will lead up to a science display at the end of the term. Each student will make a display of their research to present to the St Marys community.  

NEW - Anzac Day

In week one and term two on Thursday, There was the Anzac March a day to remember the soldiers who died for us to keep our country safe. It is a day of remembering. We started in the middle of Mooroopna at the water tower and we walked to the ceremony at the Mooroopna memorial. There were a lot of St Mary's kids and also a lot of the Mooroopna Community.

This Term for Anzac Day the 5/6’s made a poster on Private Daniel Cooper which included a portrait of him, a photo outside S.A.M. and a bit of information about him. He was one of the local indigenous men that went to war. He was unlucky and did not return home and was the son of William Cooper. He is a Echuca boy and is part of Australia's History.

NEW - Grade 5/6 Update

In the Grade 5/6 area we have been working on narrative writing and persuasive. We have also been doing work on Private Daniel Cooper, like artwork and writing. And we have been doing some jars that we have been decorating and some cards for Mother's Day.

It’s only week 3 and the students are learning more than ever, writes Charlotte Seddon, grade 6 Communication team. We’re working hard on all new areas in our program and the teachers have more to teach. Here is an exclusive interview with Miss Junor. “This term we are learning about fractions and decimals in maths, for writing we’re are focusing on persuasive and narrative texts, at the moment we writing a narrative piece, and finally for reading we have reading groups.” “Thank you” I say talking with Miss Junor who has been a reliable source for this report.
