FRENCH

Bonjour à tous!

J'espère que vous êtes tous en pleine forme (I hope that you are all doing well).

Cette semaine (This week), the Prep students are starting a portfolio task. After watching an episode of 'Mimi la souris' (Mimi the mouse), they are working independently to fill in a worksheet with the numbers that they have learnt in class.

Students in Grades 1T and 1/2D are learning new words describing face parts.

Here are a few revision cards of the vocabulary learnt in class.

In Grades 2/3A and 3/4S, the students are learning about common shops and  items that can be purchased in these shops. They are working in pairs to fill in a quiz. This activity enables them to become more familiar with the use of our bilingual dictionaries. At the same time, we are revising the concept of male/female words and the use of three different articles to translate the English word 'the': la (for a female word), le (for a male word) and les (for plural).

In Grades 5/6, the students are given some homework every week and should be able to know all the numbers between 0 and 100 in the next couple of weeks.

Our French cultural morning will be on Friday September 6th. Posters will be displayed around the school this week. This year's theme is 'French Miming'. On that day, students should wear a black, white, red or striped T-shirt. If they have a beret or black hat, white gloves and/or suspenders, they will be fantastic to wear on the day too :-).

Bonne semaine et à bientôt! (Have a nice week and talk to you soon!)
