Principal's Report

School Transitions and Open Day

It is time to enrol for 2020.

Education Week

Next week is education week. While we celebrate learning all the time, next week is our chance to do something a bit extra. If you would like to come and visit the school at any stage please feel free to pop up and see what happens in our classrooms. (Don't forget to sign in at the office)

This year Education week is celebrating careers. As educators we are preparing our students for the world ahead when the leave school. While we acknowledge that their choices of careers from primary school can be a long way off it is great for them to know that they can have a go at anything they choose if they work hard enough.

Many of the careers that our students will take part in may not have even been imagined yet. This week is a great opportunity to talk about what they might like to do in the future! It's always a fun conversation.

Open Day - This Saturday 9-11

This Saturday is Open morning. We like to invite our year 3 to 6's along to take tours for prospective parents and this year we would also like to invite you along. The classrooms will be open with your child having chosen a favourite piece of work to share. If you haven't been up to the school for a while come and have a visit.

NAPLAN

As you are aware this week is NAPLAN. The students in years 3 and 5 will be participating in tests over 3 days. We do not want children to be stressed about this test as it is a snapshot of their learning taken on one day in a very short time period. While our students participate and try their best we regularly assess and conference with our students to find out what their learning goals are without placing unneccessay stress or pressures on them. It is important that NAPLAN is kept in the perspective of what it is and that we acknowledge that our children have a variety of strengths in many different areas that can't be measured with pen and paper in a half hour block.

ELECTION BBQ - Saturday 18th May

Please help us out on election day. We need all hands on deck as it is a busy fundraiser for us and the more help the better.

Have a great week everyone.
