Principal's Report

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he/she grows up.”
I’m delighted to announce that a staggering $15,000.00 was raised for the Myrniong campus last Saturday at the P&F Art Auction. Over a hundred ‘art connoisseurs’ gathered in the Tim Murray Room to bid for art that ranged in ability! My sincere thanks to those families who were incredibly generous in their donations and I congratulate everyone involved including the key organisers Mrs Fiona Musson and Ms Jenny McCarthy.
We are all aware that ‘good parenting tends to produce good children’. Last week, I came across the 'The Fathering Project' and was rather taken with their mission and purpose. (Look them up online). The Fathering Project is a not-for-profit charity led by a team of professionals that aims to help fathers realise how important they are in a child's life. This is not to say that mothers are not important. It is to say that fathers are often more delinquent in the time spent with sons and daughters. So might I suggest that this month's job for dads is to have ‘a one-on-one date night’ with each of our children.
Finding the time for all our passions as we grow up remains a problem but our children must always remain the priority.
