It was a busy and exciting finish for BSC Sport this year! The number of participants and amount of sports teams (especially in the junior year levels) was at the highest it’s ever been. It’s always great to see so many representing our school - building good fitness and good teamwork skills!

Following are a few highlights of some of the excellent achievements this semester.

In term 3, it was fantastic to see we had our first Ski team on the snowfields at Mt Buller. Alexandra Wilson (Year 9), Hugo Pinto (Year 8) and Archie Ballinger (Year 8) represented BSC at the Victorian Interschool’s Snowsports Championships – with Alexandra (pictured) qualifying for the National Championships at Perisher (NSW) in the Alpine Ski event.

Also in Term 3, the Intermediate boy’s Table tennis team became our second team for the year to qualify for the State Championships. Zaki Bin Zenaidee, Brandon Ngo, Zac Joan, Michael Rasip and Nic Leow represented the school proudly and were strong enough to make it to the semi-finals. The boys eventually went down fighting to a strong Melbourne High outfit who eventually went on to win the day. 

During Term 4,  we had two students represent the school at the Victorian State SSV Athletics Championships. Giacomo Thomas competed  in the U14 boys 200m placing sixth, and Matthew Warren  who competed in the U13 boys High Jump placing fifth. Both did a fantastic job for BSC; well done boys!

Teams that also made it through to Regional level (Semester 2),  and represented our school with pride,  were the Year 7 Boys Hockey team, Year 8 Boys Cricket team, Year 8 Boys Basketball team (runners-up) and the Intermediate Boys Hockey team.

Well done to everyone who participated in and/or supported the Sport Program this year.  We are looking forward to our next major event; the BSC 2017 Swimming Carnival - March 1st 2107.
