Year 9 Cells and Systems

Year 9 Cells and Systems

Last week we had two Year 9 Cells and Systems classes go to Templeton Primary School to present their Respiratory System short stories.  As part of their assessment for this unit of work, our students created a story, detailing the journey of an oxygen molecule through the respiratory system, into the circulatory system, getting involved in cellular respiration in the powerhouse of the cell (the mitochondria), then being released back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.

Both our students and those from Templeton Primary School enjoyed the experience immensely and received great benefit from the program.  Some of the comments include:

"We learnt from it! I think Alicia did a great job! We understood words and if we didn’t Alicia would tell us.”

"I really enjoyed. Jashan made it really clear. The things that I enjoyed is how he presented the presentation. Good job Jashan!”

"Fun way to get attention from students when teaching. Liked Pictures. 1 or 2 words we never heard before to add to our vocabulary. I think Tori did an amaxing job to explain the topic to us!! A+"
