Recent Works at the College to Keep you Excited

Hi all

Hope you are all well and keeping safe.

Brief summary of recent works

  • Installation of LED lights in 200s and 300s. The new lights look sensational and have brightened up key practical rooms ie. Science, Wood, Metal etc that rely on good lighting. The very old fluoros with badly damaged diffusers are gone! The energy savings are predicted to pay off in 18 months.
  • Painted production shed wall!! After our infamous working bee when hail erased our great work we’ve finally got around to re-painting.
  • RT roof works- A commercial plumber has been working on the problematic RT roof, rectifying leaking vents.
  • Room 2 Storage area-The boys have knocked walls out of the old dark room (no longer needed) and created a far more practical storage area for Art.
  • Tree safety - Both an arborist and tree lopper have gone through all the trees on site

Upcoming works

  • Next week we kick off a long-awaited job-installing concrete steps at the back of the PAC. It really is an unsafe and ugly area.
  • In the next few weeks we plan to do another tier of the oval banks replacing rotted timber with concrete sleepers.

Senior School

We are making great progress. External cladding is nearing completion, plastering is up and running and storm drains are installed.  All very exciting.

Ringwood Training News

With RT falling under the TAFE’s and RTO guidelines, unlike secondary schools, we have been encouraged to continue delivery via Remote or Distance Learning were possible. The Department of Training and Skills also understands that this may not be possible in some trade areas and face to face is required.

Like the secondary school we have very quickly adapted to the current situation the COVID-19 has put us in. RT staff successfully have all programs running, including VETis.

Automotive and IT departments are delivering training with a Remote Learning model in both the VETis and Post secondary school area.

Engineering however, with the strong focus on practical. As from last week we have returned to Face to Face delivery, for both VETis and Apprentice training. Following guidelines from the Department of Training and Skills we have reduced class sizes, practicing Physical Distancing, individual tool kits for each student and temperature testing before class as some of our safe guards to protect students and staff. All theory lessons will be conducted remotely till further notice.

We will continue to monitor and follow government advice as we try to navigate our way through this.

Some limited face to face delivery will be considered for Automotive and IT over the next few weeks.

With all our administration team working off site our reception office is closed.
