Year 5/6 STEM Activity - Battle-Bots with Spheros
In 5/6 we have been utilising some of the new technology purchased this term. Using the Spheros, some recycled materials and their engineering skills the students built Battle-Bots. They used their mathematics skills to draw a circle and separated it into halves, quarters and eighths. After creating the shell, weapons (a pin) and vulnerabilities (a balloon) for their Battle-Bot, the students connected, configured and controlled a Sphero using their technology skills. Placing the Sphero inside their Battle-Bot, the students then tried to pop as many balloons as they could in the Battle Arena.

Performing Arts – Year Prep
The Prep children have been enjoying learning about Dance . They have listened to narrated stories and moved in a way fits. They have learned about different tempos (fast and slow) dynamics (sharp and soft) and levels (high and low). As our unit continues we will be learning some traditional dances from other countries.
