SSV Track and Field State Championships

On Monday 23rd October Rhys McKenna -7E represented Patterson River Secondary College at the SSV State Track and Field Championships, held at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. Rhys is a highly talented student who is currently a part of our Year 7 Excel Sport Program. In the Javelin event she was up against seven strong competitors from across the state, however that didn't deter her from  throwing an amazing 31m to beat all competitors to win a gold medal, and the title of State Champion! An amazing effort and the entire College community is very proud of Rhys' effort. 

I would also like to thank Rhys' family for transporting Rhys to the event on the day.

National Youth Leadership Forum

As one of the 2017 College Captains, I have been fortunate to be presented with many new experiences during 2017.  However, by far the greatest opportunity I received this year was attending the National Student Leadership Forum in Canberra.  Four days at the Hyatt Hotel surrounded by so many great future leaders and hearing from The Prime Minister, The Leader of the Opposition as well as many successful business owners, additional to making life long friends, was an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for life. 

Thank you to Mr O' Brien and Mr Dew for not only the Canberra experience, but the opportunity to maximize my leadership abilities throughout the year.  Good luck to everyone in their future endeavours.

ICAS Maths Competition Results

Patterson River Secondary College had a great turnout for the ICAS Maths Competition this year with over 100 students trying their best to solve increasingly more difficult problems.
